Synopsis

In the epic action-adventure, Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart plays Snow White, the only person in the land fairer than the The Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who was dipsatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer, and the acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

Main Characters

Kristen Stewart as Snow White
"Snow White" is a fairy tale known from many countries in Europe, the best known version being the German one collected by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 (German: Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"). The German version features elements such as the magic mirror, the poisoned apple, the glass coffin, and the seven dwarfs, who were first given individual names in the 1912 Broadway play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and then given different names in Disney's 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Grimm story, which is commonly referred to as "Snow White", should not be confused with the story of "Snow White and Rose Red", another fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm (in German "Schneeweißchen", rather than "Schneewittchen").

Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna
The Queen orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the forest, and bring back her lungs and liver as proof that he has killed her. The huntsman takes pity on Snow White, and instead brings the Queen the lungs and liver of a boar, which she eats, believing them to be Snow White's.
The Queen eventually discovers that Snow White has survived by questioning her magic mirror. She dresses in a disguise in her later attempts to kill Snow White. First, she visits the dwarfs' house as an old peddler woman, and sells Snow White laces for a corset; but laces them too tightly, to asphyxiate her. When that fails, she returns as a different old woman and tricks Snow White into using a poisoned comb. Finally when the comb fails to kill her, she visits again as a farmer's wife and gives Snow White a poisoned apple.
After Snow White and the Prince reveal her true nature, she is invited to their wedding, where she is forced to wear red-hot iron shoes and "dance until she dropped down dead."

Chris Hemsworth as Eric, The Huntsman
Eric is the Huntsman and the deuteragonist of Snow White and the Huntsman. He was once married to a young woman named Sara, but she died tragically many years ago. Ever since his wife's death, Eric's life has sadly fallen a part and her death may even be one of the reasons why he became a Huntsman. He is said to be one of the very few who is brave enough to venture into and withstand the horrors lurking within the Dark Forest. He has apparently spent many long years in the Evil Queen's imprisonment until she requires his assistance.

Sam Claflin as Prince William
Prince William Charmant is the prince of England in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman. He is described as being Snow White's closest childhood friend.
During the time of Snow White's imprisonment and Ravenna's newfound reign over the castle, William fled to his father (who is King of England) the escape route to the outlying lands populated by trolls, fairy folk and dwarves to escape back to England. he and his have spent years amassing an army to try and liberate Kingdoms of Europe from the evil woman who has upset the natural order of the world. When William learns that his childhood love and friend is still alive, the expert marksman vows to find Snow White and to never make the mistake of leaving her again.

The Dwarves

Beith, the leader of the clan.
Quert, Muir's musical son.
Muir, the clan's blind senior statesman.
Coll, the toughest soldier among the clan.
Duir, the shadow to Coll.
Gus, the youngest of the dwarves, who embodies the kingdom's love for Snow White.
Gort, the ill-tempered drunkard.
Nion, Beith's right-hand man.

The Dwarves are highly emotional creatures who often display extremes of both happiness and anger. According to legend, God had created the dwarves to uncover all of the riches he had left hidden on Earth. This included the beauty in people's hearts.
When the Enchanted Forest was vast and covered the whole of the Earth, their numbers were very large. Soon after the humans inhabited the forest, their numbers began to diminish and declined drastically. The eight dwarves are the last of their kind.
They are associated with Snow White and believe that she is life itself and has been chosen to heal the land. The dwarves will follow her wherever she goes.
