Top 70 Movies to Watch in 2012 (No. 5 PROMETHEUS)

Release Date: June 8, 2012 (RealD 3D and 2D theaters)

Studio: 20th Century Fox

Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller, Science Fiction

Director: Ridley Scott

Starring: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, Ben Foster, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall

Cast Details:

Noomi Rapace

Noomi Rapace will play a scientist named " Elizabeth Shaw" on the expidition to the Alien world. Not much is known about her, but we have been hinted that there may be a flash back to her history prior to the events leading up to Prometheus, not much is known however what significance this could hold to the overall turn out of the film.

Michael Fassbender

Michael will play "David", a robot synthetic (a main character) on board the Prometheus venturing out into space. In the Comic-Con footage released earlier 2011, it shows David examining some form of liquid on his finger - suspected "Grey Matter" which is an integral part of the Prometheus Plot. David presents a very important role in Prometheus.

Charlize Theron

Charlize will play the role of "Vickers" in Prometheus, a company rep joining the team as they venture into the unknown. Vickers represents the "company" on board the Prometheus. Vickers is supposedly a very important part of the plot of Prometheus.

Synopsis:

A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Originally slated as a two-part prequel to the 1979 Alien movie. Both Ridley Scott and Fox have carefully avoided calling it a prequel, although the similarity of styles is apparent in the movie stills, and with the use of the same sound effects, spaceship structures and title font animation in the teaser.

10. Brave

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord MacIntosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Stranded on the 6th floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city's worst criminals to survive their mission.

8. The Bourne Legacy

Fourth installment of the Bourne franchise based on an original story. As writer/director Tony Gilroy explains, "This is not a reboot or a recast or a prequel. No one’s replacing Matt Damon. Jason Bourne will not be featured in the film; Jeremy Renner will play another assassin trained in the same program as Bourne.

7. Men In Black III

The MIB duo of Agent Jay (Will Smith) and Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) are back in action. When the world is threatened by an evil alien, Agent Jay travels back in time to 1969, where he teams up with the younger Agent Kay to stop an evil villain named Boris (Jemaine Clement) from destroying the world in the future. Emma Thompson will play take-charge MIB operative Agent Oh, who is monitoring a prison breakout.
